FERMENTATION:
Burundi’s processing methods are similar to Kenya. The ripe cherries are picked and pulped, the coffee then goes through a 12 hour dry fermentation, the parchment is then submerged in mountain water for 12-14 hours. After this wash, the beans are laid out to dry for 12-18 hours on raised beds across the station
FARM:
This coffee is produced by the Twaranyuzwe Co-op which comprises of around 200 smallholders. The name Twaranyuzwe translates to ‘we are satisfied’ in the Kinyarwanda language
