Sertão Farm has deep roots—originally inspired by Jose Isidro’s father, it’s now a full-on family legacy, with his four kids returning to keep the tradition alive. Nestled in the hills of Minas Gerais, the farm sits at a cool 18°C, with coffee trees planted on steep, 50% slopes to dodge frost and keep ripening even. That setup also helps prevent fungal issues, making for healthier crops.
These guys aren’t just any coffee producers—they hold the Cup of Excellence World Record with a mind-blowing 95.85-point entry. The farm itself spans 850 hectares, with 330 planted in coffee, featuring Red and Yellow Bourbon, Yellow Catucaí, and Yellow Catuaí, plus bananas, corn, and even dairy cattle.
Jose Isidro Pereira was a dentist before he inherited Fazenda Sertão from his mother, shifting his path to coffee. In 1949, he met the love of his life, Nazareth, who still runs the farm today. Their kids—Francisco, Luiz Paulo, Clycia, and Sandra—are all in the coffee game too, keeping this incredible family legacy going.
